The famous chinese folk hero from southern China. Wong Fei Hung is a cantonese man from the city of Canton, his father, Wong Kei Ying, (son of Wong Tai), was famous for his martial arts and medical experiences. Wong Kei Ying is one of the 10 Tigers of Canton. Wong Fei Hung started his training when he was 5 yrs of age. It is said that while Kei-Ying and Fei-Hung were traveling around China, they found a master of Hung Gar that was practicing on the street. The master accidently injured a bystander. Wong Kei Ying helped by treating the injured bystander. The master then thanked Kei-Ying and taugh advanced Hung Gar to Kei-Ying and Fei-Hung. Later Fei-Hung got pretty good at his Hung Gar. When Fei-Hung was 13, a kung fu master came and challenged his father, instead Fei-Hung took the challenge and easily defeated the man with his 9-foot pole. That's where Fei-hung earned his fame. Later he grew older, and was a master at Hung Gar, people from every where in China came and challenged him and were beated. He practiced medicine from his father. He then created the famous" Mo Yin Guerk(No Shadow Kick)". It was a kick soooo fast that it casted no shadow. He defeated most of his opponents with it. He also created the Tiger and Crane Set. He opened a clinic with his father. He also open a school for teaching righteous people Hung Gar. He goes around helping the weak, poor, sick, and not asking for something in return. He fought many gangs. He joined a rebellion group and lead it to rebel against an governer, but it failed. He had a wife, sadily passed away, then he had another, she too died, and another..she too died.... He had 5 sons or 4. One of them he tough Hung Gar too, (forgot the name) was good at Hung Gar, and went around helping people like his father, but he was shot by a gang, so Fei-Hung decided not to teach his other sons gung fu, for it will be dangerous. There was only one fight he had lost, while fighting near a harbor against 30 gang men, using his staff, he was outnumber and beaten.( Don't know why, he had beaten an even greater number before.) A man named Lam Sai Wing traveled around China to search for a great Gung Fuist. When he arrived at Canton, he was told of a great martial artist around, Wong Fei Hung. Lam Sai Wing challenged Wong Fei-Hung. The fight lasted only a few mins, because Fei-Hung easily knocked out Sai-Wing with his No Shadow Kick. Lam Sai Wing then droped on his knees and beg for Fei-Hung to teach him Hung Gar and be his master. Fei-Hung accepted him. Lam Sai Wing later became one of the three most greatest students of Wong Fei Hung. Wong Fei Hung is also known as the King of the Lions. Because he was such an good Lion dancer(wearing those Lion heads and dancing). It is said that while dancing around in a party , Fei-Hung's shoe accidenly flew off and hit a young girl in the face. Fei-Hung went to appologize, but the girl slapped him, not knowing he was the famous Wong Fei Hung. Wong Fei Hung soon fell in love with her. This girl was 16 years old. She came from a family well-known for Hung Gar too. WOng Fei Hung later married with the girl. The girl taught Kung Fu to woman in Fei-Hung's school. At age 73, Wong Fei Hung happily passed away...... But China mourned for him.. Lam Sai Wing then taught Hung Gar to lots of people , promising Wong Fei Hung to pass on his teachings. Fei-Hung is also one of the 10 Tigers of Canton. A Statue was made of Wong Fei Hung, it's the only existing thing that shows what he looked like. The statue was made to dedicate it to the famous righteous man of China, Wong Fei Hung. |
